Because British Springtime
is worth celebrating

Spring is here and with that comes longer days, warmer weather and seasonal delights such as lamb and asparagus. It also means Mother’s Day and Easter are on their way. Scroll down to see a little inspiration of what to serve this year.

We recommend getting your order in early to avoid disappointment particularly if you would like some our our gorgeous dry aged beef.

Lamb

The Easter favourite and with good reason. Local, tender and full of flavour, our Scotsgrove Farm Lambs from our supplier in Thame will not disappoint. All our lambs are reared with welfare in mind and you can tell from the results. If you’re having a barbeque, we’d recommend a butterflied leg of lamb (we’d take the meat off of the bone whilst keeping it in one piece) resulting in an easy, relatively quick cook whilst maximising the flavour. You can serve it pink and it will remain tender. We can marinate it on request too.

If you’re having a roast or slow cooking, you can still use the leg or I’d recommend the lamb shoulder. Its more economical and by cooking it longer, the higher fat content really delivers on flavour. Slow cooking in the warmer months might seem a little odd but pulled lamb on a salad, in tacos or on sliders might change your mind…

Salmon

All our fish is sustainably sourced, MSC approved and RSPCA assured meaning its delicious, healthy and ethical! We can provide you with as small or large piece as required and with a spring salad, salmon is a wonderful alternative to meat for those family get togethers. We also frequently stock sashimi grade tuna, king prawns, whole sea bass, hake and cod as well as smoked salmon, kippers and mackerel. However, if you are after something a little different, we can order especially for you. The world is your oyster.

Rib of beef

As I’m sure you know, we’re rather proud of our prime beef at Mr and Mrs Park’s Family Butchers. Sourced as locally as possible and dry aged on the bone for at least 28 days, it really is exceptional. And, in our house our Ribs of beef are a firm favourite when it comes to a celebration. Or sometimes, even when it isn’t! They can be roasted or even cooked on the barbeque. Although weather permitting, we always go for the barbeque option giving it that great chargrill flavour.

One rib will feed 3-4 people, two ribs will feed 5-7 and so on. You can feed over 18 people with the full cut.

Chicken

The reliable roast chicken is a great option for Easter, Mother’s Day or quite simply, a Sunday. Free range or barn reared, all our poultry is English and sourced locally where possible. Ensuring their welfare is imperative and we always source a range of sizes to suit all families. Plus, if the weather is good just ask us to ‘spatchcock’ your chicken and you have yourself a barbeque! We simply remove the spine of the chicken which flattens it allowing you to cook the chicken evenly whilst on the barbeque. We can even marinate it for you…
