Our Story

He was a butcher, she was a baker. Sadly for us, there was no candlestick maker.

In 1978 the senior Mr and Mrs Park met in Henley on Thames. They fell in love, married and had children before embarking on a new adventure. In 1995, R G Park Family Butchers opened its doors. With their wealth of experience, passion for food and community spirit, the shop was and remains, everything that ‘shopping local’ should be.

More recently, In April 2020, the junior Mr and Mrs Park, Steven and Samantha returned from their life in Australia to take the reins of the business. And so, as a nod to the past, and looking forward, Mr and Mrs Park’s Family Butchers was created.

The name may be slightly different, but the spirit of the shop is the same and always will be. Beautiful, quality produce, locally and ethically sourced with service that’s both friendly and knowledgeable. If you cannot see the cut of meat you are looking for, we are happy to prepare this for you whilst you wait. If you’re after something a little unusual, we will do our best to source it for you. If you haven’t the faintest idea what to cook or how to cook it, just ask!
